DONATION FAQs
-
Roarke is open to development of programs provided grantmakers are grounded in their expectations. We are always looking to expand our impact and reach, but do request consideration for our existing interests and structure.
In a similar way, requests for new collaborations or partnerships outside of ecological programs should service the mission of expanding Roarke’s reach and impact while remaining environmentally friendly and in-line with the ethos of existing programs.
-
Roarke’s board is made stronger by diverse perspectives–our team is composed of a variety of individuals from different backgrounds that span the cultural spectrum and even international borders. Specific insights that only those from local communities, historically marginalized groups, and those with non-traditional forms of self-expression are crucial to making our decisions well-rounded and impactful in the right ways. We regularly update our Candid profile with statistics on the constitution of our board.
However, while our Board collectively discloses demographic data related to certain aspects of our identity, we recognize that individually disclosing identifiers may make our board members vulnerable to discrimination or hate as a result of immutable characteristics. Although there are those of us privileged to not have to worry about these issues, we stand in solidarity with those that are forced to. We will not disclose the demographic data of specific individuals, even at the request of grantmakers, as we do not feel it is necessary to understand our collective identity or values.
-
We do not accept grants from organizations that are looking to use Roarke’s name or association to achieve agendas beyond those relevant to our work, including lobbying or other political posturing. Roarke reserves the right to reject grants from those organizations who espouse views antithetical to our mission of climate neutrality. As per our donation terms, Roarke also reserves the right to not publicize donor information in any medium other than IRS-required paperwork, as well as publicly disavow relationships with donors we decide for any reason are not in-line with who we would like to be seen doing business with.
*Donations to 501(c)(3) organizations are tax-deductible to US filers, however, consult with your tax professional to ensure you can access the maximum value of your donation.
