At Roarke, we understand that your investment strategy might be unique. Often times the barrier to investing in meaningful environmental change is the bureaucracy and Capital Gains Tax associated with selling your hard-earned possessions. That’s why we have opened ourselves to hearing out any donations that fit some basic guidelines. Here’s a list of what we’re open to:

• Art: Any paintings, mixed media, statues, music masters, or even collectibles you are willing to part with that can be auctioned or sold to benefit Roarke’s programs.

• Vehicles: Any cars, trucks, motorcycles, trailers, or similar wheeled vehicles that can either be used for Roarke projects or auctioned off to benefit Roarke programs. We have a particular interest in EVs and AWD/4WD vehicles capable of towing trailers from 1,500 - 6,000 pounds.

• Real Estate: Any property, developed or undeveloped, that can be converted into a preserve or otherwise auctioned or sold to benefit Roarke’s programs. We have a particular interest in facilities like greenhouses or farms already geared towards large-scale production of plants or trees.

• Other Valuable Property: Any collectibles, valuables, antiques, or collections that may be able to be auctioned or are otherwise relevant to Roarke’s mission. We will hear any offer out. We are even open to firearms, though exclusively through FFL transfer.

We have a few guidelines and restrictions to consider though:

• Any items have to be worth at least one dollar/per pound. That means no limestone blocks, lemon cars, or pig lead. These are both hard to auction and hard to store.

• All items have to be shipped or otherwise delivered to Roarke at the provided address. We can acknowledge your delivery costs if itemized and accounted for as part of the donation, but will not front costs for items as we cannot verify condition until we have it in hand.

• No items with loans, liens, encumbrances, or ownership in question. This includes items and real property where equity is not full and complete.

• You must provide pictures or disclosures upon request.

• Items in excess of $5,000 in value will require an independent appraisal. This includes everything, cars, art, real estate, collectibles. It is the donor’s responsibility to find an appraiser, as we cannot have any hand in the process, per IRS regulations.

• Items under $5,000 in value should have an estimate of Fair Market Value attached. Roarke reserves the right to reject donor valuations or suggest new valuations if the sum is termed to be inaccurate. IRS regulations do require us to be reasonable in our assessments of value. We apologize if we cannot properly appraise sentimental value.

• No illegal items. Any items determined to be stolen or linked to criminal acts will result in your acknowledgment being rescinded and relevant authorities notified. Roarke will retain these objects or relinquish ownership of the property to the proper authorities until situations are resolved. Failure to disclose an item’s status as linked to illegal activity will forfeit both the donation and the item if in Roarke possession.
